If you have stained or discolored teeth and are self-conscious about the way your teeth look when you are in social situations, you are not alone. Discolored or stained teeth are easily one of the most common problems faced by many adults and often lead to self-esteem issues.

Fortunately, teeth whitening is an easy fix that can solve tooth staining and discoloration problems.

At Amaya Dental in Miami and Pembroke Pines, Florida, we’ve helped thousands of patients restore their self-confidence with teeth whitening procedures. Read on to find out what cosmetic dental procedures can whiten your teeth by at least three shades.

In-Office Teeth Whitening Treatment

An in-office teeth whitening procedure is performed in a dental office.

At Amaya Dental, our dentists use a concentrated peroxide solution to bleach your teeth and follow it up with a laser to activate the whitening agent and accelerate the whitening process.

The whitening solution we use, i.e. carbamide and hydrogen peroxide, is known to brighten the appearance of your teeth by three to eight shades. The entire process involves only a few steps and takes between 45 to 90 minutes to complete.

At-Home Teeth Whitening Treatments

If you prefer an at-home teeth whitening treatment, we can provide customized trays and a special whitening solution. We will walk you through all the steps you need to take to complete the procedure yourself.

Other options include over-the-counter whitening products such as toothpaste, strips and gels, and tray-based bleaching systems. While they are cheaper, they will take longer to achieve the desired result.

How to Maintain Your Teeth After a Teeth Whitening Procedure

Maintaining your brand new white teeth will take some effort on your part. Here are a few things you need to do to maintain your bright smile:

  • Avoid drinking coffee, black tea, red wine, and other drinks that can stain the teeth.
  • Stay away from sugary and energy drinks.
  • Avoid sauces and curries.
  • Reduce consumption of berries or similar fruits that stain.

Will Teeth Whitening Work for Me?

Teeth whitening is a simple procedure that works for everyone as long as they have healthy teeth and gums. However, it may not be suitable for people who have chronic teeth sensitivity issues, gum disease, or oral cancer.

The world is getting back to its vibrant ways. This means you will be meeting, socializing, and building new relationships again. So, why not give yourself a fresh smile to create the best first impression?
